Do you only treat private patients?
No, we provide NHS physiotherapy for the three doctors surgeries where we are based e.g Limes Medical Centre, Village Surgery and Blackwell Medical Centre. If you are a registered patient at one of the above surgeries your GP can refer you to us on the NHS. Unfortunately due to the high demand for NHS physiotherapy there is always a waiting list for NHS treatment. Your GP should be able to advise you on the current waiting time.
Do I need a Doctor’s referral to get a Private appointment?
No letter of referral is required unless specified by your private medical insurance company (if applicable). Otherwise you can just contact us and book a convenient appointment.
How long will my appointment be?
Initial appointments can last up to 40 minutes, this appointment will include both assessment and initial treatment.
Follow up appointments are thirty minutes long.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
You will need to wear or bring suitable clothing to change into as we will need to view the affected part of your body uncovered. Therefore for example if you have a problem with your leg, it would be helpful if you brought some shorts.
If you are paying via private medical insurance, you will need to bring your policy details and authorisation number.
Is my physiotherapist qualified?
All Physiotherapist employed at the practice are Members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapist and Health and Care Professions Council registered. You can confirm their HPC registration at the following website http://www.hpc-uk.org/.
Do I have to pay at the time of treatment?
Yes, we ask all patients to pay after each session unless your treatment has been arranged via BUPA membership and BUPA have provided you with an authorisation number. In all other cases we require payment at the time of each appointment. We can accept payment by cash or cheque and by credit /debit card at our Alfreton clinic.
We reserve the right to charge the full fee for missed appointments without 24 hours notice.
