About Us
Alfreton Physiotherapy Clinic was opened in 1996 by Tim Storr MSc MCSP and is based within Limes Medical Centre on Limes Avenue in the centre of Alfreton. Tim qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1998 having studied at Bath School of Physiotherapy. Initially he worked within the NHS at hospitals in Peterborough, Leicester and Tamworth, but then went to work at a private clinic in Long Eaton in 1991. Following his decision to open his own clinic in Alfreton in 1996, Tim worked closely with the doctors and staff at Limes Medical Centre to set up the clinic providing a much needed service to the people of Alfreton and surrounding areas.
In 1999, Tim was awarded a Masters degree in Physiotherapy following four years of post graduate study, and has since continued to attend numerous courses and conferences, in order to ensure his knowledge is up to date. Over the years, Tim has developed a special interest in treating patients with chronic pain, and he loves the challenge of "complex" cases in which problems are often long standing and traditionally difficult to help.
In 2003, due to increasing demand for his services, he started offering additional clinic sessions based at Alfreton Clinic on Grange Street. In January 2007, the Grange Street building closed and Tim relocated his secondary clinic to South Normanton. Based at the Village Surgery in the centre of South Normanton, treatment is available on the NHS for patients registered with the Village Surgery and on a private basis for those registered elesewhere.
